Francisco Makuza was born in DR-Congo, on January 01, 1932, in the Territory of Rutshuro, Groupement of Busanza, Locality of Mungo in the village of Mulambi. He is the son of Paul Barutwanumwe and Ruth Mukandanga.

Francisco had 7 brothers and 1 sister. To date only 3 brothers and their sister are alive. The rest of the brothers have passed to eternity.

Francisco is the husband to Donate Nyirabaganda with whom they had the blessing to birth and raise 5 children.  They also have 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was part of a growing and thriving family in spite of all the ups and downs.

Francisco was raised and trained to practice agriculture and animal breeding/herding. He dedicated his adult life and thrived in this career.

Francisco lived in the Congo until he was forced to flee the war torn country in 1996.  As a refugee in Uganda and against all odds, he continued to work as a herder and practice agriculture by working the land.

Francisco has lived well and in his 90s, he has now left us to be with the Lord.  He is well known for his love and kindness for family and friends.  Francisco is also known for his calm demeanor and easy going tendencies that inspired trust.

Francisco is to be remembered for his love and kindness towards all. He feared God and did his best to serve Him through Love.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH (325 E. Franklin Street, Appleton) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 10:00 a.m.  Committal Riverside Cemetery.
