Obituary

Fr. Irvin (Wilfrid Matthew) Udulutsch, O.F.M. Capuchin, age 90, died Saturday December 11, 2010 at St. Paul Elder Services, Kaukauna. He was born in Norwalk, WI on February 19, 1920 to the late Michael and Sophie (Flock) Udulutsch. Fr. Irvin graduated from St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt. Calvary in 1938. He made his First Profession of Vows August 27, 1939, Final Profession of Vows August 28, 1942 and was ordained to the Priesthood June 5, 1946. He earned his Bachelors Degree in Music through the Gregorian Institute in Montreal, Canada and his Masters Degree in Liturgy at the University of Notre Dame. Fr. Irvin served as pastor at parishes in Milwaukee, Schofield, Spruce and Klondike, WI. He also served as Spiritual Assistant to the Secular Franciscans. His last assignment was Associate Pastor at St. Mary Parish in Kaukauna. Fr. Irvin's passion was music. He composed several musical Cantatas, taught Liturgy and music in seminaries and directed musicals. Fr. Irvin was instrumental in helping to update and develop forward liturgical practices.

Fr. Irvin is survived by three siblings: Fr. Robert Udulutsch, O.F.M. Capuchin of Appleton; Tom (Dr. Marie) Udulutsch of Portage; and Mary (Stan) Schwartz of Tomah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six siblings: Betty (Bernard) Herbage, Patsy, Richard (Loretta), Stanley, Joseph and Jim Udulutsch.

Visitation will be held Tuesday December 14, 2010 at ST. FIDELIS FRIARY (1100 N. Ballard Rd. Appleton) from 6:00 p.m. until the time of wake service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday December 15, 2010 beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. at ST. JOSEPH PARISH (404 W. Lawrence St. Appleton). Fr. John Celichowski, Capuchin Provincial Minister will officiate. Committal Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
