Fr. Donald E. (Senan) Brody O.F.M. Cap., age 90, died Saturday October 30, 2010 at St. Paul Home. He was born in Cashton, WI on June 13, 1920 to the late Eugene and Elizabeth (Quinn) Brody. Fr. Donald graduated from Cashton High School. He was Invested as a Capuchin August 26, 1939. He made his First Profession of Vows August 27, 1940, Solemn Profession of Vows August 27, 1943 and was ordained to the Priesthood June 4, 1947. Fr. Donald served as Novice Director in Detroit, MI; in retreat ministry in Appleton and Saginaw, MI; as associate pastor at St. Joseph Parish in Appleton and Marquette, MI; and as chaplain to the Manitowoc Franciscans, Victory Knoll Sisters and Poor Clares in Indiana and Agnesians in Fond du Lac. He also had various other assignments in chaplaincy. Fr. Donald's hobbies included painting and reading.
Fr. Donald is survived by his sister, Betty Goetsch, Little Chute; nephew Robert Goetsch; and close cousin James P. "Pat" Brody.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Elizabeth; stepmother Kathryn Brody; grandparents Michael and Catherine Brody; and brother-in-law Donald Goetsch.
Visitation will be held at MONTE ALVERNO RETREAT CENTER Thursday November 4, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until time of wake service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held Friday November 5, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. at MONTE ALVERNO RETREAT CENTER (1000 N. Ballard Rd. Appleton). Fr. John Celichowski, Capuchin Provincial Minister will officiate. Committal St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.
