Florence C.
Wyngaard
February 13, 1936 – January 13, 2025
Our beautiful mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and wife has received her angel's wings as she passed away peacefully with her family at her side on January 13, 2025. She was born on February 13, 1936 to the late Theodore and Dorothy (Mueller) Sanderfoot. Florence was the youngest of four children and the last living sibling.
She attended Holy Name grade school and attended Kimberly High School graduating in 1954. Mom told us she was voted the best in her class in penmanship and that was evident to this day. She was part of the high school band playing the clarinet and continued playing in the Kimberly Community Band. After graduation she went to work in the office at the Kimberly Clark mill in Kimberly. Several years later she met her future husband Bob when she bought him a drink on her birthday. They were married on September 22, 1959 and over the next nine years welcomed six boys into their family. She had hoped for a girl after the first few boys were born but decided to give up trying for that girl after the sixth boy was born!
She was a stay-at-home mom while raising her boys. As the boys got older Flo went back and worked part time as a seasonal worker at Warehouse Specialists and also in the kitchen at the Darboy Club. It was here while working in the kitchen during a campaign stop by presidential candidate Jimmy Carter that she met him and was able to shake his hand.
Flo enjoyed her summer vacation weeks at Crooked Lake over the last 65 years. After her husband Bob retired, they also enjoyed taking bus trips to the horse races, East coast, Island Resort, and Florida.
Mom was a very good baker, seamstress, and loved to crochet and knit. She had made seven baby blankets for future great grandchildren but has only been able to give one out to date!
If a mother's body of work is measured by the success of her children and grandchildren, she can lay claim to many degrees and successful careers in her wake. If it is measured in the love in the hearts of those same, it is beyond measure. Her spirit lives on in her six boys and their spouses, twelve grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Bob; and sons, Tim (Michelle), Bruce (Chris), Tom (Robin), Bill (Mark), Mike (Karen), and Matt (Bridget). She is further survived by twelve grandchildren: Morgan (Olivia) and Kristin; Justin, Lindsey, and Courtney (Lisandro); Amanda and Ben; Hunter (Elizabeth), Emma (special friend Isaac), Max (fiancée Emma); Ty, and Abby; great grandchild Patrick (with one more on the way). Flo is also survived by sisters-in-law, Martha Evers and Marilyn Wyngaard; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ted and Dorothy Sanderfoot; father and mother-in-law, Henry and Gertrude Wyngaard; and her brothers and their wives: Vincent (Alice) Sanderfoot, Ray (Eunice) Sanderfoot, and Cliff (Joan) Sanderfoot. Also preceding her in death are her brothers and sisters-in-law: Dorothy and Richard Grapentin, Marie and Frank Schiedermayer, Anthony and Theo Wyngaard, Ruth Huss, Harold Evers, and Dick Wyngaard.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – KIMBERLY CHURCH (620 E.
