Sprangers
August 10, 1928 – January 19, 2021
Evelyn Caroline (VanZeeland) Sprangers, age 92 of De Pere, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. She was born on August 10, 1928 to the late Frank and Emma (Diedrich) Van Zeeland in Kaukauna. On June 21, 1949 she married Floyd Sprangers at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Evelyn was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for her entire life. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 436 – even serving as Chaplin. Evelyn enjoyed being very social. She had many friends but most of all enjoyed her kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Evelyn was a spirited lady and held on to that joyful spirit until the end.
She is survived by her son, James (Sharon) Sprangers; and daughters, Debbie Brice and Lynn (Paul) Zwick; grandchildren: Nicole (Ryan) Tuma, Cody (Lindsey) Zwick, Morgan (special friend Brett Van Handel) Zwick; step-grandchildren: Spencer (Samantha) Kossl and Sawyer (special friend Anna Bondareva) Kossl; and great grandchildren: Kylie, Johnny, Mac and Frankie Tuma, Brock Zwick, Sidney Kossl, Evelyn Kossl, and Cooper Sachs. Evelyn is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Marion Van Zeeland; and sister-in-law, Theresa Van Zeeland. She is further survived by brothers and sisters-in-law: Lorraine Kohl, Mary Sprangers, Margie (Kenneth) Van Stralen, Joe (Kay) Sprangers and Don Vanden Heuvel; and a very special cousin, Jerry and Carol Ederer.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Floyd; son-in-law John Brice; her parents; Floyd's parents, Joe and Edna Sprangers; sister and brother-in-law, Grace (Clemet) Hockers; brother, Sylvester Van Zeeland; and brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Janice Van Zeeland. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters in law: Lawrence (Marlene) Sprangers, Leonard Sprangers, Beatrice (Fredrick) Mueller, Jerome Kohl, Elaine (Eugene) Gregoire and Janet Vanden Heuvel.
Due to the current Covid-19 concerns, a private family service was held.
The family extends a special thank you to Unity Hospice for their excellent care for mom and the support offered to our family.
