Obituary

Evelyn Mary Jansen, Darboy, age 84, passed away beautifully on Friday, April 12th, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born on October 4th, 1928 in West DePere, WI to Frank and Mary (Ebben) Drewiske. Her family moved to Laona, WI in 1932, and she graduated from Laona High School in 1946. On June 6th 1950, she and Paul were married at St. Paul's Church in Combined Locks WI, and later moved to Darboy. She was a member of Holy Angels/Holy Spirit Parish and was a volunteer at the parish and school for many years. She was also long time volunteer at 1000 Islands Nature Center and Rennes Nursing Home, where her efforts and kindness enriched many lives, and many friends were made.

Evelyn was a very caring and giving person and her family meant the world to her. She loved the simple things in life - the sound of geese flying, walks in the woods and on the ocean beaches with Paul, the wind blowing through the many trees they had planted, music boxes, chimes, luncheons and laughter with dear friends, family gatherings, and her brandy-coke at tea time.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years Paul; and five children: Gary (Katherine); Larry (Kelly); Linda (Tom) Dorzweiler; Mary (Bob) Austin; and Paul (Bobbi); grandchildren: Dylan, Julia, Aaron, Jesse, Elizabeth, Chehala, Sol, Eli, Luke, Corinne, Nick, Emily, and Abby; great grandchildren: Eva, Sage, Sebastian, Wayne, and Hank; siblings: Norbert and Donald (Jean) Drewiske, Anna Mae (David "Duffy") Voeltz and Donna (Steve) Litwack; and brothers and sisters-in-law Rosella (Frank) Schuh, Joseph "Joddy" (Nancy) and Janice Jansen. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, special in-laws, dear friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Vicki; her parents Frank and Mary; brothers Bernard, Harold and infant twin David; brothers-in-law Carl Jansen and Bill Porter; sisters-in-law Mildred and Margie Drewiske; and the very best parents-in-law, George and Josephine (Wildenberg) Jansen.

Visitation will be held Thursday April 18, 2013 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – KIMBERLY CHURCH (620 E. Kimberly Ave. Kimberly) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. David Beaudry will officiate. Committal Mt. Calvary Cemetery, De Pere. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com. A memorial fund will be established in Evelyn's name at the 1000 Island Nature Center.

The entire family is very grateful for the support and assistance of the many family, friends, and incredible caregivers who so generously gave of themselves to assure Evelyn a peaceful and loving transition to everlasting life.

To Those I Love and Those who Love Me,
When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You must not tie yourself to me with tears. Please be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love. You can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I traveled on alone. So grieve awhile for me if you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for a while that we must part so bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on so if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me anymore, I'll be near and if you listen with your heart you will hear, all of my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I will greet you with a smile, a big hug and a "Welcome Home!"

With all my love -- Evelyn
