Eugene J. Wendt, Sr., "Gene" of Green Bay, formerly of Middle Inlet, died Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 25, 1933 to the late Felix and Rose (Redmarski) Wendt. Gene served in the U.S. Army for nine years. On July 27, 1991 he married the love of his life Marilyn. Shortly before they were married, they moved to Wisconsin from Illinois. While in Middle Inlet, he worked as a constable and was founder and chief of the Middle Inlet fire department. Gene enjoyed fishing, woodworking, painting, flower arranging and spending time with his wife.
Gene is survived by his wife, Marilyn; children: Tricia (Keith) Chambers, Jodie (Greg) Stujenske, James Stefanovic II, Chrisine Keenen, Eugene (Ava) Wendt, Jr., Susan (John) Eich, and Michael (Julie) Wendt; grandchildren: Kevin, Matthew, Phillip, Stephen, Zachary, Tyler, Brandon, and Aaron (his buddy); three great grandchildren; a special cousin, Greg; and beloved dog, Schatze. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Christa, and his son-in-law Steve Keenan.
The family will be having a celebration of his life at a later date. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the amazing staff at Unity Hospice.
