Elizabeth A.
Wydeven
April 22, 1938 – May 1, 2024
Elizabeth A. "Betty" Wydeven, Little Chute, age 86, was welcomed into Jesus' arms and reunited with her husband and son on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. She was born in Little Chute on April 22, 1938 to the late Peter and Marie (Coppus) Hermsen. Betty married Thomas J. Wydeven at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church on August 29, 1959. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2023 after 63 years of marriage.
Betty's greatest joy was spending time with her family, loving them, and praying for them. She spent all year preparing special Christmas bags for them, putting together everyone's favorite treats and finding special things that she knew they each would love. Betty took great care to remember everyone and make everyone feel special. Being surrounded by her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her more joy than you can imagine.
Faith and prayer were very important parts of her life and she attended Mass and prayed the rosary every day. Betty was an active member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church where she volunteered for funeral lunches. She also volunteered at Parkside Care Center for many years.
As a resident of St. Paul Villa, she treasured and loved her community there and enjoyed so many of the activities she could participate in. She loved her "family" there and they loved her back.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Jane (Craig) Miller of Kimberly; daughter-in-love, Jenny Wydeven of Kimberly; granddaughters: Emily (Josh) Holbrook, Maria Recker, Laura Recker, Amy (Ron) Bernitt, Andrea (Brenton) Hietpas, and Kelly Miller; great grandchildren: Alina and Nora Holbrook, Aubrey and Ayla Bernitt, and Olivia Hietpas; siblings: Richard Hermsen and Elaine Jansen; brothers-in-law: James "Wimpy" (Janice), Robert, and Jeff (Beth) Wydeven; and sisters-in-law: Elaine Wydeven, Carolyn (Dave) Minten and Barbara (Tom) Hofmann. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; son, Mike; grandson, Timothy Miller; father and mother-in-law, Richard and Grace (Jansen) Wydeven; siblings: Herb (Jean) Hermsen, Jeanne (George) Miller, and Catherine (Fran) Flannagan; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Beverly Hermsen, John T. Jansen, Dick (Betty), Gerald "Square" and Donna Wydeven.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at SCHMIDT CHAPEL AT ST. PAUL ELDER SERVICES (316 E. 14th Street, Kaukauna) beginning at 1:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 3:00 p.m. The Rev. Ronald Belitz will officiate. Committal St. John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Elder Services.
Our lives are all better because Betty was a part of it. Now rest, Mom.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
