Eileen M.
Van Nuland
September 3, 1942 – April 22, 2018
Eileen "Moon" Marion Van Nuland, Little Chute, age 75, died at her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 22, 2018. She was born in Appleton on September 3, 1942 to the late William and Erdine (Stecker) Mooney. Eileen married John Van Nuland at Holy Name Parish in Kimberly on May 4, 1963. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute.
Eileen took great joy in helping others and being with her family. She loved reading, watching old movies, traveling, baking, playing cards and eating ice cream. She faced immense loss and heartache during her life, but even in her last days and months, she never complained. When people asked her how she was feeling she always said "with my fingers." She was adored by many friends and family who were drawn to her kindness and carefree personality. She will be remembered for her quick wit, smile and positive attitude.
Eileen is survived by her husband of 54 years, John; daughters: Amy (Randy) Romenesko of Appleton and Sara (Michael) Brandfon of Chicago; grandchildren: Nicholas, Macey, Sophie and Abigail; sister: Kathy (Ken) Hockers; brothers: Dale (Elaine), John, Tom (Pat) and Pete (Kim) Mooney; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Mary Pecore, Harry (Sally) Van Nuland, Janet (Vern) Griesbach, Ed Van Nuland, Margie (Steve) Van Thiel and Steve (Missy) Van Nuland. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by her infant daughter Ann; son Joseph; and sister, Noreen (Francis) Vanden Heuvel.
There will be no geraniums and no one will sing "Amazing Grace," but Eileen welcomed everyone and loved a good visit. So all are welcome to say goodbye and share a story on Friday, April 27, 2018 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
Eileen's family would like to thank the staff at St. Paul Hospice, especially Ellen, for their love and care.
