Edward J. Sturm, Little Chute, age 87, died at his home on Friday, March 4, 2016. He was born in Appleton on June 25, 1928 to the late Joseph and Teresa (Hartsvonstofer) Sturm. Ed married Betty De Bruin on August 19, 1952 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. He served in the National Guard. Ed worked as a welder and fabricator at Fox Valley Boiler Works and Lee's Welding. Following retirement, he enjoyed working at Walmart, where he assembled bicycles. He built his cottage on Lake Poygan and loved to spend his time there fishing.
Edward is survived by his sons: Jim (Janis Waite) of Wisconsin Rapids; Gary (Kim) of Little Chute; Steve (Kim) of Freedom; and Todd (Tina) of Freedom; grandchildren: Stacy, Tyler, Kevin (Ashley), Brandon, Jeremy and Tiffany Sturm; great grandchildren: Dakota, Jude, Tytan and Taz; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Verna (Jerry) Sigl, Ione Geurts and Ronnie (Carol) De Bruin.
In addition to his parents, and wife Betty, Ed was preceded in death by his grandsons: Jeremy, Joshua, Jason and Cory; sisters and brothers-in-law: Rosalia (Henry) St. Louis, Mervin (Doris) De Bruin, Rita (Bob) Lalley and Tom Geurts.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral at 6:00 p.m. Deacon Vincent De Groot will officiate. Committal Highland Memorial Park.
