Edward B. Bogard, Darboy, age 93, died Saturday, April 8, 2023 at his home. He was born in Kimberly on February 20, 1930 to the late Edward and Etta (Wildenberg) Vanden Boogaard. Ed was a Naval veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1950-1954, and was a member of the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60. He married Berdella Ruplinger in Tomahawk on September 17, 1955. Ed worked as a master plumber and was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters UA Local 400. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed time spent at the family cottage on Pelican Lake and on the hunting land in Shawano County. Ed was a man of strong faith.
Ed is survived by his wife of 67 years, Berdella; children: Mike (Rose) Bogard, Darboy; Steve (Doreen) Bogard, Darboy; and Jean (Rick) Yunk, Kimberly; grandchildren: Lee (Heather) Bogard, Stacy (Mark) Huettl, Kari (Ryan) Jacobson, Jay (fiancée Cheyenne Kilgore) Bogard, Kelly (Andi) Prechtl, Mariah (Bryan) Lamers, Holly (Luke) Brockman, and Neil Yunk; great grandchildren: Cole and Kaylee Huettl; Bo and Maren Lamers; Isaac, Shea, and Wells Brockman; and Zoe Prechtl; and sister-in-law, Betty (Don) Schmit. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his brothers: Jim (Helen), Scott (Rosie) and Gene (Ginny) Bogard.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral at 12:00 noon, with Deacon David Van Eperen officiating. Military Honors, conducted by the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60, will follow.
