Edna Christine Strick, Kimberly, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 25th; with her family by her side. She was born on June 27, 1917 in Kimberly, daughter of George and Clara LaBerge. Edna married Wilbert (Butts) Strick on July 12, 1935 at Holy Name Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her happiest times were spent fishing up north, family gatherings, and playing sheepshead. Edna found joy in cooking and baking, as well as, reading and sharing books with her granddaughters.
She is survived by 3 children: Joan Robinson, Kimberly; George (Debbie) Strick, Neenah; John (Scott) Strick, (special friend Diane Ziemann) Kimberly; daugher-in-law Joyce Strick, Phelps. 15 grandchildren: Tom Jr. (Manda), Michael (Jackie), and Jeffrey (Angie) Strick, Jon (Jill), Joe (Maureen), and Jim (Megan) Robinson, Julie (Jeff) Gloudemans, Jeanne (Mark) Skinner, Lisa Strick, Laurie (Mark) Borowicz, Leslie (Brad) Ferrell, Karen (Rick) Braun, Jessie (James) Carrano, Jon Strick (fiancé-Amy Hietpas), Jenny Strick (special friend Troy Vander Loop); 24 great-grandchildren; a sister Florence Prohaska, New London; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Wilbert Strick; a son Tom Strick; a son-in-law David Robinson; and a granddaughter Jeannine Strick. She was further preceded by 2 sisters and 3 brothers-in-law: Naomi (Harold) Stinksi, Blanche (Tony) Koehn, and Jim Prohaska; and 2 brothers Roger and Robert LaBerge.
Visitation
will be held Friday April 1, 2011 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – KIMBERLY CHURCH (620 E. Kimberly Ave. Kimberly) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. David Beaudry will officiate.
