Spaeth

Edmond Peter Spaeth, age 89, of Little Chute, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Ed was born in Cashton, Wisconsin, on October 14, 1934, to the late Peter and Anna (Mlsna) Spaeth. Edmond served in the U.S. Army in Korea and was a member of the Cashton VFW. He was also a 50 year member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 in Little Chute. He was a meat cutter and worked in many stores around the state. In 1961, Ed came to Madison, Wisconsin, to work in a small grocery store, where he met the love of his life, Ruth Dalton. They were married on March 3, 1962, and spent 62 years together.
Ed is survived by his wife, Ruth; his children: David (Karen), Sheila, Steven (Brenda); his grandchildren: Sam (Sharaea), Matt (Makayla), Nick, and Kayla; and his great grandson, Cashton. He is further survived by his brothers and sisters: Rose Silbaugh, Wilma Spaeth, Albert (Norma) Spaeth, Larry (Kalla) Spaeth, and Angela Spade; his siblings-in-law: Patricia Spaeth, Judy Spaeth, Margie Spaeth, Jim (Dee) Will, Rosemary (Andy) Rosales, Mark Dalton, Kathy (Bob) Weissmann, Francis (Diana) Dalton, Gerald Dalton, Leila (Dave) Smith, and Dorothy (Danny) Starker; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his parents-in-law; his brothers: Francis, Tony, LaVern, Raymond, Cletus, and Peter; his sisters: Charlene and Mary; his brothers-in-law: Dave Silbaugh, Ron Hauser, Gary Spade and Michael Dalton; and sisters-in-law: Phylis Spaeth, Karen Dalton, Luann Dalton, Jeanette (Ray) Wiser
Visitation for Ed will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 at SACRED HEART PARISH (222 E. Fremont Street, Appleton) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Kleinschmidt officiating, and Father Bob Karuhn concelebrating. Military honors, conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 will be held after Mass. Private Committal Highland Memorial Park.
