Donald R. Tisler, age 88, of Appleton, died on Monday, September 27, 2021. He was born on October 3, 1932, in Wayside, to the late James and Emma (Shimon) Tisler. Don married his best friend, Patricia "Pat" Mullins on August 9, 1958. They shared 65 wonderful years together. He worked at Tecumseh Products in New Holstein for more than 35 years, most of it as a supervisor. Don was a proud Army veteran, serving as a Paratrooper in the 11 th Airborne Division, stories from which he loved to share. He was a member of the William Verhagen American Legion Post 60, and served on their Honor Guard.
Don is survived by his wife, Pat; children: Pamela (Jon) Hagen of Appleton; and Todd (Denise Flicker) Tisler of Bemidji, MN; grandchildren: Jessica (Jorge) Raasch; and Laura (David) Wentworth; and three great-granddaughters: Josefina, Julia, and Eloise. He is further survived by his brother, Leo (Carol) Tisler; brother-in-law, Paul Mullins; sister-in-law, Debra (Kevin) Gertsch; his godchild, Curt Tisler; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his siblings: Bill, Victor, Michael, Ray, Martha, and Alice.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021, at ST. PAUL PARISH (410 Wallace Street, Combined Locks) beginning at 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Military Honors will immediately follow. Committal Highland Memorial Park.
Don's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Cherry Meadows and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the outstanding care given to Don and his family during his final days.
