Obituary

Donald W. Johnson, Bear Creek, age 81, died at his home on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.  He was born in Merrill on May 17, 1939 to the late Benjamin and Florence (Schmidt) Johnson.  Donald was an Army veteran, serving as a paratrooper in the 82 nd Airborne Division.  His hobbies included flat track motorcycle racing, flying airplanes, and spending time with friends.

Donald is survived by his children:  Joanne (John Hoskins) Johnson, Jodi Johnson, Tracy (Brenda) Johnson, Clay (Amber Neuman) Johnson, Wade Johnson, Josh (Molly Wedde) Forester, and Jerri (Chip Listle) Johnson-Listle; grandchildren:  Riley Johnson, Maddison and Mason Kubinski, Olilvia Forester, Kayleigh Wedde, Morgan, Jase, Nicholas, Joshua, and Sabrina Johnson, Casey Listle, Nick Johnson, Megan, Jim, Scott, and Kaitie Jo Cruz; great grandchildren:  Leighton, Callen, Shelby, Judah, Demitria, Grant, Dravyn, Ellie, River, Luca, and Winter; and siblings:  Blanch, Leland, Richard, and Phillip Johnson.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Johnson.

In accordance with his wishes, no funeral will be held.

Don lived a life full of adventure, there was not place he went that he didn't know someone.  You could sit down and listen to his stories for hours on end about the things he has done or the places he has been.   From professional flat track racing and jumping out of planes, to erecting the John Hancock building, there was never a dull moment.  These are memories that will be cherished by all of us forever, he will be greatly missed.
