Donald Nicholas Huss, Town of Harrison, age 76 years, born in the Town of Freedom September 4, 1937, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday April 3, 2014. Don was the son of the late Clarence and Odelia (Krautkramer) Huss. He married Joyce Everts on July 7, 1962 at St. Patrick's Church in the Township of Lebanon. Don was employed at Thilmany Paper and Pulp for 42 years. He was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Catholic Financial Knights.
Don's favorite past times included fishing, gun and bow hunting, gardening, boating, playing Sheephead and watching the Green Bay Packers. In his younger years, he was an avid water skier.
Don is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joyce; their three children: Sandy (Jack) Romenesko, Kaukauna; Rick (Joyce) Huss, Hilbert; and Steve Huss, Mackville; grandchildren: Carly, Natalie, Nick, Mitch and Matt; great grandchildren: Anna, Hayden, Ashton, Weston, Kensington and Zachary; sisters: Bernice (Jim) Letter, Helen (Bob) Caughell and Verna (Allen) Kreuzberg; brother: Ken (Ruth) Huss; sisters in-law: Jeanne (Ernie) Omernick, Helen Everts and Patricia (Dan) Glocke; and brothers-in-law: David Everts and Richard (Inez) Everts. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by brothers-in-law: Gilbert (Leila), Eugene, Donald (Deloris), Robert and Jack (Patricia) Everts; and sisters-in-law: Bernie Everts and Marjorie (Adolph) Bruette.
Visitation will be held Monday April 7, 2014 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – HOLY ANGELS CHURCH (W5831 County Rd. KK, Darboy) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 Noon. Don's nephew, the Rev. Donald Everts will officiate. Committal St. Joseph Cemetery.
Don's family would like to thank the staff at Appleton Medical Center, Manor Care, and Drs. Werner and Vogt. Also a very special thank you to the staff at Heartland Hospice, who have been so kind to our family during Don's recent struggle.
