Donald M. Van Hoof, Kaukauna, age 84, died Thursday April 1, 2010 at St. Paul Home. He was born February 19, 1926 in Kaukauna to the late John and Rose (Green) Van Hoof. Don was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary Parish. He was the custodian at Holy Cross Parish for 25 years and at St. Mary Parish for 10 years. Don was a very charitable man and helped many Hmong families make the transition to their life here easier. He was a pro-life spiritualist.
Donald is survived by his sisters: Lillian (Tony) Van Wychen, Ann De Coster and Marian Ragen; sister-in-law: Elizabeth Van Hoof; and nieces and nephews: Dennis (Katie), Jim, Joan, Terry (Chris) and Steve Van Hoof, Patti (John) Bauernfeind, Mary Borree, Sue (Dan) Voet, Donna (Ken) Lopas, Joan (Jay) Weiland, Dan (Mary), Michael (Jean) and Jeff (Kathleen) Van Wychen, Paul and John (Gretchen) De Coster and Jean (Bill) Moore.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his siblings: Joe (Cathy), Norb and Teresa (infant) Van Hoof; brothers-in-law Ronald Ragen and Lawrence De Coster; and nephew Patrick Ragen.
Visitation will be held Monday April 5, 2010 beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 4:00 p.m. at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH – ST. MARY SITE (119 W. 7th St. Kaukauna). The Rev. Jerry Pastors will officiate. Committal St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna. Donald's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to St. Paul Home and Hospice.
