Diane Ruth
Peterson
March 6, 1951 – July 24, 2023
Diane R. Peterson, age 72, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Monday, July 24, 2023. She was born in Shawano to the late Martin and Duwane (Mehlhorn) Pieper on March 6, 1951. Diane married the love of her life, James Peterson, on January 23, 1971, and together, they raised their three sons. Diane kept busy with several hobbies, whether it was being outside birdwatching, gardening, or enjoying wildlife, or inside, testing her mind on puzzles, playing cards, sewing and quilting, and cross-stitching. She loved cooking and baking, and enhanced many recipes, putting her own twist on it. Diane enjoyed gospel and bluegrass music and was happy to go to a concert that included either. Above all, Diane will be remembered for her strong faith, which she credited for her strength.
Diane is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jim; her children: Jeffrey (Karen) Peterson, Timothy (Linda) Peterson, and Jeremy (Ruth) Peterson; and her grandchildren: Ryan, Dustin, Nathan, Jessica, and Ella. Diane is further survived by her siblings: Gerald Pieper, Donna (Henry) Hensel, James (significant other JoAnne) Pieper, Darlene (David) Hoffman, Martin (Martha) Pieper, and Richard (significant other Emma) Pieper; and siblings-in-law: Steven (Laurel) Peterson, Phyllis (Randy) Ratz, and Michael (Diane) Peterson; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Diane is preceded in death by husband's parents, Phil and Alice.
Visitation for Diane will be held August 12, 2023, at CHRIST THE KING LUTHERAN CHURCH (601 S. Washington Street, Combined Locks) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Nate Gauerke officiating.
