Dennis W. Lenz, Town of Poygan, age 68, died peacefully Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his home after a 22 month battle with cancer. He was born in Appleton on January 20, 1949 to the late Cletus and Marie (Eckes) Lenz.  Dennis married Sharon Wulterkens on April 6, 1968 at Holy Name Parish in Kimberly.  He worked as a machinist at Badger Northland almost 30 years and retired as a Production Supervisor from AxleTech in Oshkosh.  Dennis enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting and feeding the birds.  He also liked woodworking and watching the Brewers and Packers.  One of his favorite holiday traditions was ringing the bell for the Salvation Army raising money for charity.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon; son, Bret (Wendy) Lenz of Milwaukee; son-in-law, Paul VerVoort; grandchildren:  Sean Lenz (fiancée Kayce), Morgan Lenz (friend Jared) and Makayla Lenz; sister:  Diane Kappell; brother and sisters-in-law:  Jim (Joanne) Wulterkens, Kim Wulterkens and Donna (Dave) DeYoung.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessie VerVoort; infant sister, Mary Lenz; father and mother-in-law, Conrad and Dolores Wulterkens; and brothers-in-law:  William Kappell, Don and Dennis Wulterkens.

No funeral will be held per his wishes. A private interment of his ashes will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to his favorite charity, The Salvation Army.
