Dennis Erwin Heinz, Lakewood, age 72, died at on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.  He was born in Appleton on February 25, 1951 to the late Ed and Joan (Bogan) Heinz.  Dennis married Sue Rothe on May 1, 1971.  He loved to camp with his family and fish.  Dennis enjoyed the wildlife in the North Woods, especially feeding the deer.  Dennis liked working on cars and raced at WIR as a young man.  He also enjoyed NASCAR races.  Dennis' greatest joy was his grandchildren.  He loved to see them and hear about their accomplishments.

Dennis is survived by his children:  Shane (Amber) Heinz of New London; Dennis (Kendal) Heinz, Jr. of Kaukauna; and Tanya (Chad) Robertshaw of Oshkosh; their mother, Sue Rothe; grandchildren:  Eliotte, Brett, Hayden, Alexis, and Cameron; brothers:  Bob (Janet) and Jim (Gayle) Heinz; and girlfriend, Janet Bierstaker of Lakewood.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by Sue's parents, Larry and Doris Rothke; and siblings:  Marlene, Gary, and Eddie Heinz.

A private service was held.
