Dennis G. Brand, Appleton, age 60, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 5, 2017 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. He was born in Kenosha, WI on November 13, 1956 to Joseph and Alice (Progen) Brand. Dennis met the love of his life, Patricia Burge when he was 15. They married on July 29, 1974 in Waukegan, IL. He worked at American Brass in Kenosha for over 20 years until it closed down in 1998.
Dennis loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a very proud grandpa supporting them in all their school and sporting events. Dennis and Patricia were true soul mates and loved spending as much time together as possible. It didn't matter what they were doing - traveling to Vegas or sitting watching TV - if they were together, it was precious. Dennis also enjoyed playing cards, sharing his love of sports, and reminiscing with his family and friends.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 42 years, Patricia; children: Shawn of Green Bay; Jason (Chrystle) of Twin Lakes, WI; Valerie (Darin) Van Handel of Little Chute; Adam of Appleton; and Nick Pape of Fox Lake, IL; grandchildren: Tyler (Cianna) Brand, Cody Brand, Dustin Van Handel, Logan Van Handel, Brodie Van Handel, Dominik Brand, Amber Brand, Dylan (Hannah) Gittings and Emilee LaMothe; great grandson: Avery Gittings; father: Joseph; step-mom: Barb; sisters: Pat (Carl) Schmekle, Theresa (Tony) Botti, Cathy (Rusty) Paul and Shirley (Mike) Daniels; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Camille Brand, Bob (Nancy), Norman Jr., Joe and Tim (Kat) Burge. He is further survived and loved by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Alice; brother, Donald; and father and mother-in-law, Norman and Adah Burge.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 11, 2017 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ronald Szep will officiate. Committal Community Lutheran Cemetery.
Dennis will always be with us as he will live on in our hearts and our memories, in our smiles and our tears and even though we can't touch him, we will never forget how he touched us.
