David Rhoads Wiley, Appleton, age 82, died Friday, November 19, 2021.  He was born in Sellersville, PA on January 27, 1939 to the late Glover and Aida (Ricci) Wiley.  He married Brenda Stewart in Durham, NC in 1961.  She preceded him in death on August 26, 2002.

David earned a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Duke University in 1961.  He started his Master's Degree in Chemistry at Rutgers University and completed it at Villanova University in 1973. David worked for DuPont from 1973 until his retirement in 2000.

David enjoyed dogs, model railroading and was a member of the Paper Valley Model Railroad Club.  He relished adventure and took many trips to each continent, apart from Antarctica.  David toured most of his destinations in the U.S. and abroad via train.

David is survived by his children:  David Stuart Wiley, Chicago, IL; Margaret Elisabeth West, Graham, NC; and Catherine Ann Wiley, Fargo, ND; and grandchildren:  David and Brandon West.

In addition to his parents and wife, Brenda, David was recently preceded in death by his companion Lynn Schend.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) beginning at 12:00 p.m. until time of Funeral at 1:00 p.m.  The Rev. Lynn Martin will officiate.  Committal Riverside Cemetery.
