David G. Eick was called to his heavenly home due to a medical condition unrelated to COVID-19 on February 26, 2021.

David was born December 16th, 1961 at Kaukauna Community Hospital. He lived most of his life in the State of Wisconsin, but did live in Gary, Indiana for a few years. David had a passion for flowers and loved working with shrubs and plants. He had a keen eye for landscaping and always made anything he planted look amazing. He also was an animal lover and had an array of dogs, a few cats, and even some birds for a while. He always said: "Animals give you all their love and never judge you."

David had a compassion for people that were struggling and were not able to take care of themselves. This compassion led him to Parkside Care Center where he worked as a CNA for many years; he loved the feeling he had when helping out those in need.  This drive to help people pushed him to go even further and he applied to a position at American Grand assisted living facility and became the Assistant Administrator. This is when he was at his happiest point in his life. His joy was ended all too soon when he sustained a neck injury in which he could no longer do what he loved most.

The final years of his life were spent struggling with health issues. He took comfort in spending the majority of his days with his mother, who was his rock and made his life so much more bearable.

David is survived by his mother Elaine Miller (Bernie), Little Chute; a sister, Lori (Dennis) Marsicek, Kaukauna; two brothers, Bob (Diana) Eick, North Carolina and Paul Eick and friend (Kay), Appleton; nephews: Jeremiah (Brenna) Marsicek, Madison, Luke Marsicek and special friend (Cristina), Virginia, Jacob Marsicek, Kaukauna; two nieces: Lisa (Nate) Couillard, Kaukauna, and Angie Eick, Appleton. He is also survived by his father's wife Nancy Eick, Kaukauna; many (great) nephews and nieces; members of his mother's husband's family: Jean (Michael) Van Wychen, Kaukauna, Steve Miller, Appleton, Carol (Ronny) Samp, Florida, Scott (Kerri) Miller, Kaukauna, Amy (Michael) Bodoh, Clintonville.

He was preceded in death by his father Gary Eick; his grandparents Alvin and Pearl Eick, William and Delia Van Asten; and many aunts and uncles. He was also preceded in death by Elaine's husband's children, Joan (Raymond) Sanderfoot and Connie Brick.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 11:00 a.m.  The Rev. David McElroy will officiate.

He will be missed by all he loved in life, but most of all his mother Elaine and sister Lori.

Until we meet again brother, watch over us all and take care of dad.
