Obituary

The Driessen family is sad to announce the passing of our patriarch, David L. Driessen who passed peacefully at home with his family surrounding him. Dave was born to Earl and Marie Driessen on September 18, 1937. He attended St. John’s High School in Little Chute, graduating in 1956. In the early 1960s, he married Sharon Wilkinson welcoming 4 beautiful daughters. After they parted ways, he met and married Rose Hagany in 1980 celebrating 46 years together shortly before his death. A son was added to the family with this union.

Dave proudly served his country in the US Navy. After his service, he became a computer programmer/analyst for various organizations, retiring at the end of 1995.

Over the years, the family spent many summers camping together at various places. The chance to enjoy his family was very important to him.

Dave was not your usual type sportsman. If it wasn’t a sport he could participate in, he didn’t have any interest in it. He fished, hunted (more with a camera than a gun), flew radio controlled airplanes and drones and his most recent years were spent at target shooting at the range. These last years were more about camaraderie with the guys at the range.

Dave is survived by his wife, Rose; his children, Lori (Doug) Getchius, Amy (Peter) Buzay, Victoria Beyer, Heidi (Chris) Schleyer, and John (Trena) Driessen.

He is further survived by his grandchildren, Brianne (Kristina Kishbaugh) Getchius, Marc Getchius, Erin (Nick) Miller, Corey (Samantha) Steier, Taylor (Robby) Miller, Mariah (Jaden) Klineschmidt, Tristan Beyer, Maddox (Vyncent) DeLune, Michelle (Tyree) Brigham, Braiden Driessen and Felicia (Nate) Hoppie.

Great grandchildren, Kat Kishbaugh, Kira Kishbaugh, Elizabeth Fisher, Jude Miller, Elias Miller, Baby Girl Miller (due November 2026) and Baby Boy Miller (due February 2027).

He is also survived by his sister, Susan (Gene) Wildenberg and brother-in-law, Steven Rochon; sister-in-law, Nancy (Mike) Malueg, and brothers-in-law, Don (Diane Hopfensperger) Hagany and Tom Hagany.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marie Driessen, his parents-in-law, John and Gertrude Hagany, his sisters Lynn (Gerald) Beattie and Jennifer Rochon and his cherished grandson, Ethyn Beyer.

Visitation for Dave will be held at O’CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) on Saturday, November 7, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding at 10:45 a.m. Funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain William Van Dyn Hoven officiating.

The family would like to thank Amy, Lisa, Mike, William, and Jennifer from Heartland Hospice for making Dave’s journey more comfortable.
