David farmed on the family farm from the age of 10 until a few months before his death. He served in the Army and was stationed in Korea for a time. He was a member of the Thomas E. Kees American Legion Post 496 in Sherwood. David was a member of St. John's Dart Ball team and served on the cemetery board for many years. He enjoyed his road trips to Minnesota and North Dakota, visiting his siblings and friends. David's twin granddaughters were his pride and joy. He loved spoiling them.
David is survived by his children: Rebecca (Rob) Blatter of Lake Mills, WI; and Joel (Laura) Borree of Greenville; granddaughters: Emily and Lilly; and siblings: Kenneth Borree, Kaukauna; Lois (Melvin) Lendt, Sleepy Eye, Minnesota; Darold (Cheryl) Borree, St. Francis, WI.; Sharon (Roger) Steinberg, New London; and Betty (John) Pogrant, Kaukauna. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, David was preceded in death by Sharon's parents, Leonard and Marilyn Morley; a sister-in-law, Carol Borree, also a niece and nephew.
Visitation will be held Friday April 11, 2014 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday at ST. JOHN LUTHERAN CHURCH (N9125 Military Rd. Kaukauna) from 9:00 a.m. until Funeral at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Andrew Luehring will officiate. Military rites conducted by the Thomas E. Kees American Legion Post 496 will immediately follow. Committal is at St. John Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial is being established. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com.
