Daniel L. Bork, Sr., Appleton, age 88, passed away at his home on January 6th, 2022.  He was born in Appleton at his Grandpa's home on May 22 ^nd , 1933, and graduated from Appleton West High School. He then met Mary Hietpas, the love of his life. They were married in 1957 and celebrated almost 65 years of marriage. Dan worked at Hoffer Glass for over 30 years. After retirement, he worked for Ascension (La Salle Clinic) for 18 years and part time for Pronto Delivery. Dan loved traveling, relaxing on the houseboat and spending time with family.

The hardships Dad faced in life, never affected the soft spot he had in his heart for his family. He was very proud of his family and made every attempt to attend the kids' events and was never shy about expressing their accomplishments.  He will be missed by family and friends, and his memory will go on forever.

Dan is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Hietpas Bork; sons:  Dan (Balvina) Bork Jr. of Appleton and Bill (Jeanne Shavlik) Bork of Combined Locks; grandchildren:  Adam (Christine) Bork, Ashlee (Matt) Pahl, Connor Shavlik, Ryan (Jordyn) Shavlik, Andrew Bork, and Sam Bork; great grandchildren:  Jayden Bork, Natalie Bork, Melody Bork, Ashton Pahl, and Owen Pahl; siblings:  Tim (Patty) Bork and Gwynne  Parker; and sister and brother-in-law:  Glady Jelenc and Marv and Ellie Hietpas.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents Helen and Elmer Bork, Dan was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Barney and Mathilda Hietpas; and brothers and sisters-in-law:  Pat Parker, Jerry (Julie) Hietpas, Vince Hietpas, Laverne "Red" Shumann (Cliff) Weyers, Don (Betty) Hietpas and Marty Jelenc.

Per Dad's request, there are no funeral services planned. A celebration of life will be held in early summer for family and close friends. In leu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
