Daniel K. Eggert, Kaukauna, age 61, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 24, 2013 due to diabetic complications. He was born in Appleton on October 6, 1951 to the late Harold N.J. and Ramona L. (Ecker) Eggert. He served in the National Guard. Dan married Eileen A. Stover on May 3, 1980. He most recently worked at the Radisson Paper Valley Hotel. Prior to that, Dan worked at Bob and Dave's Lawn and Landscape, Rich's, Gimbels/Marshall Fields, the Outagamie County Sheriff Department and the Seymour and Hortonville Police Departments. He enjoyed woodworking, cooking and spending time with his family. Dan was an avid Packer and Badgers Football fan and also liked auto racing. He was a member of the Jaycees, involved with the Kaukauna Youth Band Organization and loved to treasure hunt at St. Vincent De Paul. Dan was a smart ass and all that knew him appreciated his jokes.

Dan is survived by his wife of 33 years, Eileen; children: Zach of Kaukauna and Katie of Orlando, FL; brother: David (Nancy) Eggert; mother-in-law: Mary Jane Stover; brothers-in-law: Phillip Stover and Paul (Paula) Stover; and godson Kevin Eggert. In addition to many friends, he is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Lulu the family dog, and lifelong friends Wally and Laurel Heil.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law Loren C. Stover; sisters-in-law: Becky Stover, Virginia Stover and Joyce Walter; and brother-in-law Richard Walter.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 29, 2013 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Mike Norton officiating. Committal Highland Memorial Park. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com.
