Daniel "Danny" Lee Basler, Jr., age 36 of Webster, South Dakota, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 29, 2021, as the result of a semi accident.

He was born on January 26, 1985 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Dan and Pam Basler. During his childhood, Danny resided in Kaukauna, attending the Kaukauna school district. He was a quiet child who could converse more with adults, but also enjoyed his own time while playing with his cars and trucks, sometimes with his sister and brother. Another favorite pastime of Danny's was creating and painting model vehicles. Danny graduated from Kaukauna High School in 2003, and remained a resident in Kaukauna until he moved to South Dakota in 2011. Even though away from the area, Danny was very proud of his home town and community of Kaukauna, and sometimes knew more of community happenings then most local residents. Danny was the creator of "Ghost Town Pictures", a Facebook group that he continued to watch and follow. His long-distance connection with his family included FaceTime opportunities and even playing some video games with his nephews. Danny was employed by Cash-Wa Distributing for only a few short months, but his work ethic made him a great employee that will be missed greatly.

Danny is survived by the love of his life, Jackie Stange also of Webster, South Dakota; his mother, Pamela Basler of Kaukauna; his father, Daniel (Dianne) Basler of Kaukauna; his brother Eric and sister Angela -- both also of Kaukauna; his niece Mya; and his nephews Larry and Jaydon. Surviving paternal grandparents are Leroy and Sandy Basler of Charlesburg, and he is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins as well.

Danny was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Iris Ranker, Kenneth and Vi Ranker; and also his Aunt Patti (Ranker) Bissette.

Visitation for Danny will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) from 3:00 p.m. until time of Funeral at 5:00 p.m. The Rev. Carl Schmitt will officiate.

The family wishes to thank all Minnesota agencies involved, especially Minnesota State Trooper Matthew Gleisner that was with Danny and continually kept the family informed, and also countless family and friends for all of their support and prayers during this difficult time.
