Daniel I. "Bear" Alft, Appleton, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. Dan was born July 15, 1941, the eldest child of William and Lucille (Brown) Alft. He graduated from White Lake High School in White Lake, WI in 1959. Dan later spent most of his life in the Appleton area. He enjoyed hunting deer and grouse but his true love was golf and the 19 ^th hole.

Dan is survived by his four siblings: Doris Holbrook of Green Bay; Bill (Barbara) Alft of Appleton; Patrick (Janet) Alft of Little Chute; and Christine Alft of Wausau.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and Michael Alft.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

The family extends a special thank you to the ICU staff of ThedaCare, Gold Cross Ambulance, and all others involved in Dan's care.
