Clyde W. Kieffer peacefully went home to be with Jesus, surrounded by his family at AMC in Appleton, WI, on Sunday November 21, 2010. He was born in Freedom, WI, on August 23, 1927, the son of the late Clarence and Loretta (Hoks) Kieffer. On November 17, 1951, he married Jeanne Ann Kools in Menasha, WI. Clyde and Jeanne just celebrated their 59th Anniversary. Clyde retired from Wisconsin Natural Gas (WE Energies). He loved fishing and playing cribbage with his wife, kids, and grandchildren. Clyde loved to share his sense of humor and to make others laugh.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jeanne Ann Kieffer; children: Tom (Elle) Kieffer of St. Paul, MN; Dan (Whitney) Kieffer of Minneapolis; MN, Bill Kieffer of Appleton, WI; John (Colette) Kieffer of Appleton, WI; and Joe Kieffer of Appleton, WI; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Ila Kieffer of Tuscon, AZ; Elizabeth (Marc) Nigl of Kaukauna, WI; Howard (Betty Jean) Kieffer of Marinette; Dolores Kieffer of Nashville, half brother, Austin (Mary) Wheaton of Larson; and half-sister, Judy (Ken) LaRue of Weyauwega; and Goddaughter Jean (Joe) Sell and her extended family: and many relatives and good friends.
His twin brother Clayton preceded Clyde in death.
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday November 24, 2010, at Christ The Rock Community Church, Menasha WI, Hwy 10 -114. Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
The family extends a special thank you to Theda Care at Home Hospice and AMC nursing staff for their compassionate care and service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Clyde's name is being established for the Special Olympics Programs at Valley Packaging Industries. (Valley Packaging 2730 Roemer Road Appleton or Goodwill Shiner Center 1341 West Spencer Street Appleton.)
