Obituary

Cletus J. Ertl, Little Chute, age 88 passed away peacefully on Saturday July 23, 2011 with his family at his side. He was born on April 21, 1923 to the late Joseph and Mary (Winters) Ertl. Cletus married Eunice De Bruin on February 19, 1944 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and was happily married for 67 years. He worked for Kimberly Clark Corporation for 24 years. Cletus then worked as an accountant for IDS and had his own accounting business. He was also a professional photographer. Cletus was an accomplished musician and played with the Tony Winters Orchestra. He had a passion for big band music. Cletus proudly shared his love of music with his two sons and his grandson Cole and by writing his own musical arrangements. He can now share his passion with everyone in Heaven.

Cletus is survived by his wife, Eunice; five daughters: Arlene (Dan) Merkel, Elm Grove; Jane (Don) Polinski, Waukesha; Susan (Dave) Laha, Appleton; Rose (Vincent) Lamers, Little Chute; and Carol (Trevor) Frank, Menasha; daughter-in-law: Bonnie Ertl; grandchildren: Andy Merkel, Jesse (Kenda) Brunette, Vicki and Mark (Danielle) Polinski, Brooke (special friend Hank Pace) and Nick Laha, Vance, Cole and Logan Lamers, Tracee (Mike) Cole and Brian Ertl; great grandchildren: Tylor, Brennon and Leah; brothers and sister: Wilbur Ertl, Donald (Dorothy) Ertl and Lois (Donald) Thiel; and brother-in-law Donald Sielaff. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Cletus was preceded in death by his sons, Anthony and William; sister Joan Sielaff; sister-in-law Marion Ertl; and members of Eunice's family.

Visitation will be held Wednesday July 27, 2011 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. The Fr. James Hablewitz will officiate. Committal Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Parkside Nursing Home, Hospice Staff, Saint Elizabeth's Hospital and Dr. Meyer who helped guide them through this difficult time.
