Obituary

Clayton E. Schaffer, age 79, of Combined Locks passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 6, 2016 surrounded by family. Clayt was born at home in Hilbert on January 7, 1937 to Tony and Lollie Schaffer. He served in the Korean Conflict. Clayt was united in marriage to Diana M. Huebner and shared 57 wonderful years together. He worked at Wickes Lumber until his retirement. Clayt loved hunting, fishing, and spending time at the cottage with family.

Clayton is survived by his wife Diana; daughter Cindy (Ted) Weyenberg; son Stanley (Donna) Schaffer; granddaughters: Brianna and Courtney; twin brother Clifford (Viola) Schaffer; brothers: John Schaffer, Andy (Nancy) Schaffer; sister Judy See; sister-in-law Dawn (Mike) Mathis; brother-in-law Carl Boesch; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tony and Lollie Schaffer; in-laws Wilmer and Lillie Huebner; brother Ermin; brother-in-law Sy See; and sisters-in-law: Susie Schaffer and Donna Boesch.

Visitation will be held Saturday July 9, 2016 at ST. PAUL PARISH (410 Wallace St. Combined Locks) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Andrew T. Kysely will officiate with Deacon Jeff Prickette assisting. Military rites will immediately follow.  Committal St. Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Clayton's name.

Clayton's family would like to thank the staff at Hematology and Oncology, Heartland Hospice, Atrium Post Acute Care, and a special thank you to Deacon Jeff Prickette.
