Claudia Lynn Metko, Stockbridge, age 73, died Thursday, March 4 th , 2021 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton following a short battle with cancer. She was born in Appleton, WI on August 6, 1947 to the late Ed Metko and Lila Metko Fulcer. Claudia's daughter Candee and her children were her pride and joy, along with her dog and companion, Lil Bear. She worked odd jobs most of her life in the dry cleaning profession. She also had a talent and passion of being a wonderful seamstress. Until her retirement, Claudia resided in Appleton area. She lived and worked in California for 26 years where she raised Candee. She brought in a young girl by the name of Rosie at the age of 12 who became her adopted daughter. In 2009, an old friend introduced her to Stockbridge where she lived the last twelve years of her life. She quickly made new friends and family. She loved to have a good conversation with anyone who walked in her local hangout Beef's Tap. She became close with so many locals in her time here. She loved making necklaces for anyone, giving gifts, loved her collection of bears and shaking a game of dice for a shot. She was a sassy, but yet an easy going lovable woman. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Claudia is survived by her daughter Candee Morton(Los Angeles, CA), adopted daughter Rosie Papenguth-Williams (Glendale, CA), her grandchildren Jessee and Wyatt Morton, adopted granddaughter Michelle Pentz, her siblings Jonna Mascarenas (Shawano), Sue Bretl (Appleton), Steve (Monk) Metko (Stockbridge), Greg Metko (Shawano), Joe Metko(Texas). She is further survived by her nieces, nephews, and close friends of Stockbridge.
In addition to her parents, Claudia was preceded in death by a son in law, Josh Morton.
A celebration of life and social gathering will be held at Beef's Tap in Stockbridge, WI on Sunday, March 28 th , 1:00-5:00.
Claudia's family would like to thank St. Elizabeth Hospital Cancer Team, Stockbridge First Repsonders and also special friends Lynn Tasch and Nathan "Beef" Bowe for always being there, especially at the end. Also, in helping after her passing with everything.
We love you and will miss you.
