Cheryl Lee "CP" Powers, Appleton, age 69, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. She was born in Beloit on December 9, 1947 to the late Ivan and Connie (Baumgartner) Powers. CP was employed with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for 17 years, starting as a guard at Taycheedah Correctional Institution and working her way up to Lieutenant at Oshkosh Correctional Institution when she retired. Following retirement, she worked part time at Dwyer's Convenience Store in Little Chute.

CP is survived by her partner spouse Mary Ann "George" Cisewski, whom she married on November 14, 2015; brother, Rick (Diane) Powers; sister, Mary Jo (Tim) Blenker; niece, Michelle (Eric) Phillips; nephews, Jason (fiancée Jen Perry) Powers and Randy (fiancée Melissa Knueven) Blenker; great nieces, Addie and Eva Phillips; great nephews, Ethan Phillips, Jace and Cruz Powers; and her beloved dog Mandy. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

CP was preceded in death by her parents as well as other aunts, uncles and cousins.

CP had numerous health issues, especially over the last 5 years, which she faced with dignity and perseverance. With her passing as we enter Holy Week, she has entered new life without pain or suffering.

The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to family and friends for all of their love and support during these years. We also wish to sincerely thank the dedicated caregivers at Froedtert Hospital Transplant Clinic/Unit in Milwaukee and ThedaCare ICU, especially Randy and Cary.

Visitation will be held April 29, 2017 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Funeral at 12:00 Noon. The Rev. Lucretia Fehrmann will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
