Cecilia M. Vander Heyden, Appleton, age 93 died Thursday March 4, 2010. She was born August 30, 1916 in Grand Chute to the late Henry and Cornelia (Joosten) Weyenberg. Cecilia married Norman J. Vander Heyden on Jun 21, 1938 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute. He preceded her in death in 1978. Cecilia enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening and golfing. She was a member at St. Therese Parish for 50 years, volunteering in various capacities and caring for the altar linens. After her move from the family home, she joined St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.
Cecilia is survived by her children: Cecile V. Kuebler, Appleton; Paul (Jan) Vander Heyden, Little Chute; Mary (Bill) Morrissey, Florida; and Kathleen C. (John) Jurewicz, Florida; grandchildren: Steven (Debbie) Unmuth, Lisa (Paul) Gartin, Joe Jurewicz, Christina, Joe (Monica), Bill (Kelli) and Ryan Morrissey, Patricia (Hugh) Ahn, Ellen, Laura and Dave (Val) Vander Heyden and Kathleen (John) Sigmund; 13 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law: Rose Marie Weyenberg and Bill Neabling; special friends Bob and Barb Crawford; special nephew Dave Schultz; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson Michael P. Vander Heyden; son-in-law John Kuebler; siblings: John (Helen), Martin (Frances), Frank (Harriet), Ray and William Weyenberg and Marie (Jake) Lamers; and sisters and brothers-in-law: Leona K., Cletus A. (Gertrude) and Orville (Anita) Vander Heyden, Anita E. (Robert) Vanden Heuvel, Delphine M. (Ervin) Schultz, Jo Ann (Bill) Neabling and Bernadine (Lee) Wolderding.
Visitation will be held Monday March 8, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. until time of Mass at 5:00 p.m. at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute). The Rev. David J. Funk, O.F.M. Cap. will officiate. Committal St. Joseph Cemetery.
