Carl James
Zimmer
December 21, 1938 – October 26, 2024
Carl James Zimmer, age 85, of Appleton, died on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Carl was born in Appleton to the late Henry and Lilie (Schmidt) Zimmer on December 21, 1938. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Carl spent his career at Appleton Papers, working as a trimmer operator. He married the love of his life, Judith Pasch, at Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New London, on November 3, 1962.
Carl was a dependable man and a jack of all trades. He was always there and willing to lend a helping hand, whether it was for a house project or just something that needed to get done. He loved the outdoors, being at "The Ridge", especially, where he spent his springs fishing and autumns hunting. Carl was a loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, and friend. A man that was close to his maker, we know we will be with him again.
Carl is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Judy; his children: Cindy (Steve) Helein, of Neenah; and Warren (Wendy) Zimmer, of Menasha; his grandchildren: Quinn (Haley) Helein, Zachary Zimmer, Taryn Helein, Brooke (Kyle) Webster, and Brieann Helein; and his great grandchildren: Bryant, Hudson, and Rowan Helein, and Justin Webster. Carl is further survived by his siblings and siblings-in-law: George (Vera) Zimmer, Russell Zimmer, twin Carroll Krause, and June Pasch; as well as his God children: Pam VandeBurgt, Mark Krause, and Megan Byars.
In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his grandson, Justin Carl Zimmer, parents-in-law, Karl and Avis (Curtis) Pasch, and his siblings and siblings-in-law: Fern (Harry) Sepuha, Frank (Wanda) Zimmer, Katherine (Earl) Schefe, Elvera (Shirley) Meiers, Nancy Zimmer, James Krause, Donna (Don) Main, and Karl Pasch.
In accordance with Carl's wishes, a private family service will be held.
