Carl A. DeCoster, Kaukauna, age 88, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019, after a courageous battle with various ailments with his family at his side. He was born in Kaukauna on November 4, 1930 to the late George and Mayme (Weyenberg) DeCoster. Carl married Nadine Lardinois in Green Bay on April 28, 1956. He was a drywaller for over 50 years, including owning his own drywall business. Carl "worked hard and played hard." He was proud of his hobby farmette that he built and farmed for many years. Carl loved animals and took great joy in the animals he had on his farm. He cherished time spent with his family and enjoyed golfing and playing cribbage.

Carl is survived by his children: Don (Colleen) DeCoster, June (Doug) Belunes, Karen (Al) Frederickson and Deb DeCoster; grandchildren; great grandchildren; special niece, Kay; and loyal dog, Maggie.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine; brother, Bob (Betty) DeCoster; sister, Delores DeCoster; and special friend, Jan Mader.

In accordance with Carl's wishes, a private prayer service will be held at O'Connell Funeral Home on Thursday, January 17, 2019. A celebration of his life will follow from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Tommy G's (107 W. Wisconsin Ave. Kaukauna).

Carl's family would like to thank Dr. Russo and his staff, the Kaukauna EMT's, and the nurses at AMC for their exceptional care.

Dad … God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to me."  With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fade away.  Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.  A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands to rest.  God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
