Calvin J. Welch, age 84, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Monday, July 17, 2023. Calvin was born on November 8, 1938, in the town of Hobart, the son of the late Lloyd and Cordella Welch. He attended Holy Cross and later Kaukauna High School. He married the love of his life, Patricia Fleming, on April 29, 1961, at St. John's Catholic Church in Little Chute. Together, they enjoyed 62 years of marriage and raised 5 children.

Calvin enjoyed playing many sports, including baseball, basketball, football, and boxing. He umpired for many years in Little Chute softball leagues. In his younger years, Calvin was quite the dancer, and loved to Jitterbug. He also enjoyed playing a game of pool or cribbage, and drinking a whiskey Old Fashioned. Above all, Calvin cherished his family and time he spent with them, particularly watching his children and grandchildren in their sports and activities.

Calvin is survived by his wife, Patricia Welch, of Little Chute; his children: Michael (Kathy) Welch, of Arden Hills, Minnesota; Jodi (James) Boldt, of Kimberly; Craig (Sarah) Welch, of Appleton; Chad Welch (special friend Tina Schneider), of De Pere; and Danny (Gina) Welch, of Los Angeles, California; and his 9 grandchildren: Alexandra (special friend Kenyah Duran) and Andrew Welch; Halle and Lily Boldt; Hannah and Hattie Welch; and Levi, Everett, and Tyler Welch. Calvin is further survived by his brother, Lloyd "Bill" (Mary Ann) Welch; his sister, Pat (Don) Schuh; and his siblings-in-law: Barbara Romaine, Kevin (Manny) Fleming, Tom (Vicki) Fleming, and Allan Fleming; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and his 6 furry grand-puppies.

In addition to his parents, Calvin is preceded in death by his sister, Myrna Fahrbach; brother, Ronald Welch; and his siblings-in-law: Carol Welch, Jan Ulman, Jean Hauter, Jerry Fleming, Gordon Fleming, and Wayne Fleming; as well as many aunts and uncles.
