Obituary

Brian G. Stevenson, Simi Valley, CA, formerly of Combined Locks, age 48, died Saturday September 14, 2013. He was born in Appleton on March 21, 1965 to Robert and Margaret (Jonen) Stevenson. Brian's home parish was St. Paul Church, where he was an altar server. He was a saxophonist and played through his school years and then with the Joe Schumacher Orchestra. While in Boy Scouts, he attended the 1977 BSA National Jamboree at Moraine State Park bear Butler, PA. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout and was awarded the American Legion Scout of the Year in 1981. As a high school student, Brian delivered the Post Crescent to the Combined Locks Mill area on his bike. His route got much easier when he purchased a 1978 Chevette to aid in the task.

Following his 1983 graduation from Kimberly High School, Brian earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Fox Valley Technical College and began his career with Kimberly Clark. He was currently employed by NUPLA Corporation in Sun Valley, CA and had been with them for 10 years. He also had a business selling saxophones and saxophone accessories, produced an annual football draft publication and was an analyst for Street & Smith's Pro Football magazine. Brian loved football, especially the Minnesota Vikings and college football.


Brian is survived by his wife; children; parents: Robert and Margaret; siblings: Tim (Shelley) and Lynn (David) Honari; and nephews and niece: Alex, Noah, Luke, Sean and Julia; brother-in-law Mario Burrell; stepfather-in-law Herbert Gran. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.

Brian was preceded in death by his infant nephews, Nicholas and Samuel Stevenson; grandparents: Elwood and Ann Stevenson and Clarence and Mildred Jonen; and mother-in-law Enola Burrell.

Brian's Funeral Mass was held Saturday September 21, 2013 at St. Paul Parish, Combined Locks. The Rev. Andrew Kysely officiated. He was buried in the parish cemetery. Brian will be dearly missed by his family and friends, we love you Brian. His parents were very blessed to have recently spent two weeks in California with him.

We cannot bring the old days back, when we were all together; the family chain is broken now, but memories live forever.
