Bonnie J. VanGompel of Menasha passed away on Tuesday July 17, 2018 with family by her side. She was born on May 6, 1938 in Green Bay, WI, daughter of Irene Garcia (Haack) and Edward Trudeau.

Besides raising six children over the years, Bonnie was part owner operator of two businesses, The Orihula Resort in Fremont, as well as a painting business in Green Bay. Her extensive musical talent allowed her to sing and entertain from Michigan to Chicago. Bonnie also cared for many children over the years.

Bonnie is survived by her children: Theresa (Ed) Schaefer- Shea, their children Dan (Cindy) Hansen, Eric (Cindy) Schaefer, Adam (Andrea) Shea, Samantha (Bryan) Engleson, and Dakota Shea; Michael Boucher and his children Alexis Boucher, Michael Boucher, and Zachary Boucher; Edward "Buck" Boucher; Christine (Bob) Davis and their daughter Eva (Matt) Clemens; son in-law LeRoy Hoertsch and his children Cassie (Mike) Hendrickson, Dustin (Amy) Hoertsch, Stephanie (Keith) Schnese, and Tiffany Hoertsch; and Robert (Amy) Zwick and their children Nicole (Zach) Franda, Jordan Zwick, and Hunter Zwick. Bonnie also left 19 great grandchildren. She's further survived by her brothers: Richard (Maxine) Trudeau, Speed (Barb) Trudeau and Harold (Chris) Trudeau; one sister Beverly Sibila; and many nieces, nephews, best friend Ned Christansen, and many other friends.

Bonnie will be dearly missed by her children, she was a loving free spirit who will be remembered for her compassionate kind heart. She would take in anyone in need and help them with their struggles. She had a love for children which she took care of many, over the years.  Riding her Harley, making many friends wherever she went, cooking, baking, sewing, singing with jazz bands, are just a few of the things she enjoyed. Her sense of humor, laugh, and big beautiful smile always lit up every room.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her spouse Gerald VanGompel; her daughter Kelli Hoertsch; son-in-law Randy Schaefer; daughter-in-law Vicki Boucher; and grandchildren: Theodore "Teddy" Mitchell III and Sidney Boucher; sister Theresa; and brothers: Edward Trudeau and Tony Trudeau.
