Obituary

Our mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, Belle Strauss, passed away on January 31, 2025 at the age of 94. She was the last of her clan.

She was a very smart, strong and hard-working woman and had many jobs over her life. In her younger years, she was an administrative assistant at the former Lockheed Air Force Base in Georgia, and later in Wisconsin, she worked as a sales associate, seamstress, library clerk, and worked for many years in Economic Support in Outagamie County. Her hobbies were extensive: Knitting, crocheting, sewing, collecting fairy lamps and making teeny, tiny miniatures. She was also proud that she could still do the jitterbug (a lively dance of the 1940s) and a bit of tap dancing even into her 80s.

She will be missed by her children: Betty & Jed Stander, Chuck & Susie (Nielsen), Carol & Chris Trantow, Bruce & Penny Jane (Baumgart). Her grandchildren: David (Megan) Trantow, Jennifer (Alex) Gidal, Angela Strauss (Miles), Charlie Strauss (Ka), Matthew Ingalls, Kat (Mitch) Charles, Jacob Strauss, and Joshua Strauss (Hanna). And her great-grandson, Henry Gidal.

Unfortunately, she had to observe the passing of her husband, Charles, 3 of her children, April, Cindy Ingalls & Jay, and her granddaughter Beth.

The family would like to thank the staff at Appleton Retirement Center for all the wonderful care she was given and Moments Hospice for helping Mom and us through this difficult time.

We want to especially thank our brother Chuck, for the many years he watched over Mom. Taking care of her house, lawn and just watching over her so she could live independently for so many years.

A private family gathering will be held.
