Barbara E. Vander Zanden, Little Chute, 93, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 21, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 13, 1922 in Money Creek, MN to the late Charles and Ella (Neeb) Mierau. Barbara graduated from high school in 1942, the first of her family to do so. She married Cyril Vander Zanden June 14, 1947 in Milwaukee. Barbara belonged to the following clubs: XYZ, Hobby, DAV, Kaukauna Health Associates and the Little Chute Senior Service.

Barbara is survived by her children: Jane Kriplean of Orange Beach, AL; Jim (Pam) Vander Zanden of Moscow, ID; Betty (Tony) Cecchini of Dothan, AL; and Jerry Vander Zanden of Sussex, WI; grandchildren: Renee Kriplean (special friend Tom Euclide); Sara (Travis) Wouters, Hannah Vander Zanden (Luis Álvarez Castro); and Emily Vander Zanden; great granddaughter, Ella Wouters; and sister and brother-in-law: Agnes Mierau and Joe Vander Zanden.

In addition to her parents and siblings, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Cyril, on July 8, 1990; and son-in-law, Butch Kriplean.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Thomas Pomeroy will officiate. Committal Highland Memorial Park.
