Alice K. Lemmers, Kimberly, age 82, died Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Edenbrook of Appleton.  She was born on September 22, 1941, in the town of Stockbridge, the daughter of Martin and Loretta (Nett) Schomisch.   Alice attended St. Mary Catholic Elementary School and Stockbridge Public High School.  She graduated from high school as salutatorian in May 1959.  Alice married Leo Lemmers on September 11, 1960 and resided in Kimberly where they raised three children.  Alice and Leo and family had many adventures together as they traveled and camped across the United States.  These adventures included many fun filled camping trips with extended family.  Alice had many talents including knitting, ceramics painting, and gardening.  She was an excellent seamstress.  Alice was a good cook and enjoyed entertaining friends and family.  She taught furniture refinishing at Fox Valley Technical College.

Alice was involved in the Holy Spirit Religion Education Program first as a volunteer instructor and then employed as a religion education coordinator.  She was with the program from 1980 until her retirement in 2006.  Her special love was Holy Communion preparation.  She enjoyed working with her students and fellow colleagues.

Alice had an avid interest in sports, politics, movies, and world events well into retirement.

Alice is survived by her children:  Jacqueline (Joseph Sulima) Lemmers, Milford, CT; and James (Tresa) Lemmers, Weyauwega; grandchildren:  Bailley (Kevin) Lingren and Wyatt (Yvonne) Lemmers; great grandchildren:  Tensley Lingren, Lennox and Knox Lemmers; and sisters:  Ann Lemmers, Kathleen (John) Geyer, Joan (John "Jack") Van Roy, and Jane Hoepner; and sister-in-law, Chris Lemmers.  She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; son, Joseph S. Lemmers; father and mother-in-law, Theodore and Elizabeth (Lamers) Lemmers; brother, David Schomisch; and brothers and sisters-in-law:  Thomas Lemmers, Ronald Lemmers, Leon Hoepner, Agnes (Martin) Nett, Stephen (Joan, Betty) Lemmers, Lawrence Lemmers, Ethel (Sidney) Zuzelski, and Doris (Donald) Cost.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – KIMBERLY CHURCH (620 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly) beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 12:00 Noon with the Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating.  Committal Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery, Kimberly.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Holy Spirit Parish Religion Education Program.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Edenbrook of Appleton, Aspire Senior Living Kimberly, and Bristol Hospice for their care and love to Alice.
