Alice E. Joosten, of Little Chute, age 90, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, December 31, 2021. She was born to the late Earl and Catherine (Van Asten) Nichols on April 15, 1931.
On May 7, 1949, she was united in marriage to Jerome "Shorty" Joosten; together they had eight children. While her kids kept Alice busy, she enjoyed baking and sewing in her free time. She was always up for a game of cards, Bingo, or a trip to the casino. She loved fishing and spending time at the cottage on Anderson Lake. She loved to sit outside and watch the birds. Her favorite TV programs were Gunsmoke and WWE Monday Night Raw Wrestling, and of course, you could always hear her cheering on the Packers.
Alice was a faithful member of St. John Nepomucene Parish.
Alice is survived by her children: Tom (Sue) Joosten, Appleton; Carol (Mario) Garcia, Kaukauna; Bill (Ann) Joosten, Kaukauna; Cyril Joosten, Little Chute; and Patty (Dave) Seefeldt, Little Chute; and her grandchildren: Jesse Josephs; Angie (Jeremy) Byrne; Dan (Kim) Erdmann; Eric (special friend Roxy) Joosten; Maria (Kenn) Seif; Ellen (Garison) Bucholtz; Chris Joosten; Heather (fiance Jeff Bernard) Jansen; Chris Jansen; Travis Lenhart; Ryan Seefeldt; Catherine Seefeldt (special friend Sam); and Brandon Seefeldt. Alice is further survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a very special friend since childhood, Myra Mueller.
In addition to her parents, Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Jerome; her children: Catherine Josephs, Bob "B.J." Joosten, and Jerome "Jerry" Joosten; granddaughter Kari Erdmann; sister Rita Becker; and brother Cyril Nichols.
Visitation for Alice will be held at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) on January 14, 2022, beginning at 4:00 p.m. until time of Funeral at 6:00 p.m., with the Rev. Ronald Belitz officiating. Committal St. John Cemetery. To sign the guestbook, please visit oconnellfh.com.
