Alice A.
Ducat
July 25, 1925 – November 29, 2018
Alice A. Ducat, Freedom, age 93, died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Country Villa Assisted Living. She was born July 25, 1925 in Stockbridge to the late Matthew and Helen (Siegwarth) Puetz. Alice married Robert Ducat on May 8, 1948 at St. Mary's Parish in Stockbridge. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2010. Alice was a member of St. Nicholas Parish in Freedom. For many years she volunteered at the Freedom Elementary School library. Alice was an avid reader and also enjoyed bird watching. She and her son-in-law had a contest each year to be the first to see a robin in spring. Most years, they both claimed to have been first and loved to hassle each other over it for fun. In addition to the birds, Alice loved her grand dogs and every one of them adored her.
She loved spending time in Door County, and especially the number of years spent living in Baileys Harbor before moving to Freedom. Alice was a proud grandmother that treasured time spent with her grandson and great grandchildren.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Kathryn (Brett) Kindness, Little Chute; grandson, Sean Kindness, Little Chute; grandchildren: Noah and Preston; sisters: Margaret Tatro, Mary (Bert) Perry and Jean Puetz; and brother and sister-in-law: Donald Ducat and Marilyn (Richard) Kohl.
In addition to her parents and husband, Robert, Alice was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Auriya; sibings: Delores (Gene) Riesenweber and Edward (Evelyn) Puetz; and brother and sisters-in-law: Lyle Tatro, Dorothy and Marian Ducat.
A private funeral will be held at St. Nicholas Parish. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
Alice's family would like to extend a special thank you to Country Villa Assisted Living in Freedom and Ascension Home Hospice for the love and care she received in her final days.
