Obituary

Albert Van Lith, Kimberly, age 90, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Parkside Care Center. He was born in Maren, Holland on April 3, 1929 to the late Johannes and Adriana (Klaren) Van Lith and was the last surviving member of his generation. Al served in the Dutch Army in Indonesia. He married Johanna "Annie" Michels at St. Willibrord Catholic Church in Hedel on May 6, 1954. She preceded him in death on December 26, 2007 and he missed her dearly. Al and Ann came to the United States in September of 1956 with their two small children and settled in Kimberly. Once here, they went on to have 6 more children and were active members of their community. Al was a life-long member of Holy Name/Holy Spirit Parish in Kimberly. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Kimberly Police and Fire Commission. He was also a member of Kiwanis and served as Lt. Governor, a lifetime member of the MacDowell Male Chorus and a founding member of the Little Chute Windmill Committee. Al was employed at Fox River Tool Company until his retirement in 1991. Al was a talented harmonica player and loved to share his love of music with others.


Al is survived by his children: Harry (Dot) Van Lith, Little Chute; Janie (Chuck) Schwamb, Little Chute; Gerty (Kimberley) Van Lith, Combined Locks; Hans (Dianne) Van Lith, Appleton; Mary Ann (Gordy) Anderson, Little Chute; Trish (Dave "Buck" Delaruelle) Van Lith, Hollandtown; Al (Susan) Van Lith, Brookfield; and Mike (Kari Tenley) Van Lith, Appleton; grandchildren; Scott (Bernadette) Van Lith and Erin (Clint) Klapatauskas; Nikki Schwamb and Terri (Jason) Kruse; Dylan (Ashley) Van Lith, Deidra (Jon) Veitengruber and Derrek (Dan Anderson) Van Lith; Cory (Amy), Casey (Chelsea) and Carly Anderson; Bill (Kayle) and Elliott Nytes; Caitlin (Zach Tritz) and Alia Van Lith; Olivia, Noah and Parker Van Lith; great grandchildren: Wesley, Evan and Nolan Van Lith; Dane, Cade and Tate Klapatauskas; Emma Resop, Dexter and Lexi Kruse; and Nora Anderson; sisters-in-law: Jopie Michels and Tonny Blank; and special nephew, Tonny de Goeij. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


In addition to his parents and his beloved Annie, Al was preceded in death by his siblings and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.


Visitation will be held Monday, July 8, 2019 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH – KIMBERLY CHURCH (600 E. Kimberly Ave. Kimberly) from 2:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Mass will follow at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating. Committal Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.


The Van Lith family would like to thank the amazing staff at Parkside (Atrium Post Acute Care) for their compassionate care. Also, thank you to Ascension Hospice for their care in Dad's final days.
