Adam Raymond Merkel, born in Appleton, Wisconsin on May 23, 1984 passed away on November 3, 2026.

Adam was a loving father, brother, and son known for his humor and personality. He loved wrestling, football, and most of all, his family. He enjoyed spending time playing cards with his brother. He had a gift for making people laugh and creating memories that will be cherished forever.

His greatest pride and joy were his three children, Ava Vande Kolk, Eliza Merkel, and Bain Merkel, whom he loved fiercely and unconditionally. They were the center of his world and his love for them will live on through them always.

Adam is survived by his children and their mothers, including Kambrie; his brothers, Ryley Carnot, Ryan Matthies, and John McCarthy; his godparents, Debbie and Ken Matthies; Cherrie Van Grinsven; and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurie Carnot and Ron McCarthy, and his grandmother, Ellie Vincent, a constant source of support in his life.

Adam will be remembered for his humor, his love of family and his spirit that made him who he was.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A celebration of life is planned for December 19, 2026.
